Save Our Ship

It came down from heaven like the devil’s own whipping stick
Flew through the air like a fist on fire and it blew into the ship
A lot of stuff got busted up and a lot of people began to cry
An orange glow rose from the ship to the sky

And the people on the boat
Tried to keep the thing afloat
Patch it up with hope
Make it to the next vote

They sang SOSOSOS oh oh, SOSOSOS oh oh
Save our ship, don't let it go down to the water
Save our ship, don't let it go down down go down
Save our ship, don't let it go down to the water
save our ship, don't let it go down down go down

Well the ship was listing and leaking and the people all took on tasks
Some plugged leaks, patched up holes, others raised up the mast
Nobody knew for certain if the ship would ever make it to shore
So they rolled their sleeves real high and they worked and they worked some more

And the people on the boat . . .

So after many months went by the orange glow still stuck to the ship
People noticed those on the upper deck kept getting sick
Then one day the sun came up and the orange blob is overboard
And there in front of the ship is the shimmering shining shore

And the people on the boat . . .
